“ Everyone deserves to live a more pain-free and balanced life. I’m inspired by the immediate and longterm effects I’ve seen acupuncture, bodywork, and yoga have on a person and find this work both humbling and invigorating! It is a privilege to be trained in and share these healing modalities with our community. ”
As a life-long student of movement and owner of Turning Pointe, Alissa has over a decade of personal and professional experience dedicated to the healing arts — from teaching yoga and therapeutic exercise in physical therapy clinics to practicing massage therapy in chiropractic clinics and wellness centers. She is dedicated to helping individuals identify and treat pain and movement dysfunction at the source to return to activities they love and avoid future injuries.
Patients often make their way to Alissa’s treatment room exhausted and desperate for relief after finding few answers elsewhere. Her approach has been described as deeply informed, affirming, compassionate, and caring — and she is so fulfilled by following the threads that lead to less suffering for everyone from professional athletes to folks just wishing to feel better in their bodies.
Alissa is passionate about supporting people who are struggling with multifaceted symptoms, overlapping or evasive diagnoses, and persistent pain. She is particularly interested and skilled in addressing radiculopathic conditions including experiences of weakness, numbness, and tingling; chronic headaches, menstrual cycle concerns, injuries related to sports and exercise, and symptoms of overtaxed nervous systems including anxiety and insomnia. Alissa also brings a deep understanding of how circumstances of overwhelm, transitional grief, and bereavement affect the body, connecting the dots between physical and mental-emotional distress.
Alissa holds a Master of Science in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine and a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Human Physiology from San Francisco State University. She has 500 hour certifications in both massage therapy and yoga instruction. “ I have an intuitive approach to massage and address the whole body as an interconnected system. My years as a professional dancer have given me an appreciation for how bodies hold tension and how these patterns can turn into pain or escalate into injury. Getting to the root causes of problems feels like a puzzle and I enjoy investigating how the pieces fit together. ”
Brent's decade-long career as a professional dancer has given him a profound understanding of physical demands placed on the body, sparking a personal interest in pain and injury management. This journey eventually led him to explore the field of massage and manual therapy, where he has honed his expertise.
With a calm, centered approach to treatment, Brent draws from a variety of techniques including Deep Tissue, Myofascial Release, Pin and Stretch, and elements of CranioSacral therapy among others. His treatments are tailored to each individual, focusing on identifying and addressing the specific needs of their body. Brent is especially skilled and most frequently booked by folks seeking relief from both acute and chronic musculoskeletal pain, tension, and mobility restrictions, particularly in areas like the lower back, neck, shoulders, lower legs. Allison Koehler

Director of Operations
when you need me call me, no matter where you are, no matter how far
“ I live and work from a foundation of interconnectedness, symbiotic relationship & responsibility, and care — external and internal; human and non-human; past, present, and future. I believe that what is in the way often is the way and that we're all in this together. I want people to take good care of themselves and be taken care of when they need support. I'm happy lending a hand however I can. ”
A clinic neighbor, Allison is very likely the first correspondence you’ll have and face you’ll see as a patient with us! She’s the wizard who makes all of our magic happen and when not at the clinic, trust she’s behind the scenes working to improve our processes & practices or mapping out some new ideas for us.
Her funky collage of professional experience includes nearly a decade in the film industry as a festival curator, director of programming, and outreach & education director. Allison has opened an independent coffee shop and worn a series of hats intended for marketing directors, senior account execs, farmers market managers, sales specialists, consultants who advise on systems and organization, and lastly but not leastly, the very particular type of hat made for unicorns (actual job title and best fitting hat!).
In addition to lending her skill sets to us, Allison provides 1:1 remote support as a certified transformational coach through her practice Being Alive and is working on crafting herbal offerings through small creative projects The Common Cauldron and Practical Magic Kitchen. Allison agrees with bell hooks that love is a verb and shares Bjork’s revelation that nature has fixed no limits on our hopes. In free time, Allison is cooking, gardening, hiking and generally immersed in nature, hanging out with her husband and two cats, and learning as much as and as often as she can about an endless list of interests!
