QI GONG: THE ART OF SELF MAINTENANCE

Tuesdays, April 29 - June 3 | 6:00PM | $20

If you’re looking for a gentle, intentional way to reconnect with yourself and bring more balance to your mind, body, and spirit, we invite you to join guest teacher Liz Scott in our studio for a nourishing Qi Gong practice.

This 45 minute class is perfect for all levels—including complete beginners—and offers an accessible, engaging introduction to the art of Qi Gong. Through a series of simple, flowing movements, we’ll focus on tuning into the body, encouraging energy flow, and cultivating overall wellness. These movements provide subtle stretches and gentle engagement that help the body check in with itself—supporting circulation, strengthening tendons and bones, and calming the nervous system.Qi Gong is also a powerful practice for emotional balance. It can help ease feelings of stress, sadness, or anxiety while supporting a stronger immune system and greater clarity and vitality in your day-to-day life.

Liz is trained in the Ling Gui lineage and teaches Thousand Hands Buddha, The Eight Treasures, and Immune Boosting Qigong. Her teaching style is warm, down-to-earth, and inviting. She believes deeply in honoring the body’s wisdom—doing what you can, listening closely, and never pushing beyond your limits. She brings this ethos into every class, making it easy for students of all levels to feel at ease and fully present. Come as you are, and let’s explore this healing practice together.

ABOUT LIZ SCOTT

Elizabeth Scott has been on a path of spiritual cultivation for most of her adult life.

She began practicing Tai Chi at age 25 while living in New York City—seeking stillness and inner calm amid the city’s constant motion. At 27, she embraced a nomadic lifestyle, living out of her car and using that time to look deeply inward and commit to living more intentionally. At 30, Liz moved to Portland to study Acupuncture and Traditional Asian Medicine, with a clear goal: to support others on their own healing journeys. During the COVID lockdowns, she turned to Qigong as a daily anchor, cultivating her practice with devotion. She credits this consistency with helping her stay balanced and healthy through those unpredictable years—only catching the virus in 2024.

She’s thrilled to be teaching at Turning Point before heading to South America to continue her own self-cultivation journey. Liz hopes to see you in class—because she truly believes that when we work to heal ourselves, we are also contributing to the healing of the world.
